Experience a Fort Gaines Christmas and WWII Living History Event

Two special events are planned for this holiday season at Fort Gaines Historic Site on Dauphin Island. A WWII Living History Event on November 18th and the 34th Annual Fort Gaines Christmas Through the Ages on December 9th, 2017. Fort Gaines' battlements have guarded the entrance to Mobile Bay since 1862. It is considered one of the best preserved, 19th century shoreline fortifications on the east coast. A "Guardian of Mobile Bay," Fort Gaines is part of the Mobile Bay Civil War Trail, which also includes Fort Morgan, Magee Farm, and Blakeley State Park. Fort Gaines Historic Site is always good for a visit. Exploring the fortifications and learning about our country's history can be especially fun and rewarding here. This is especially true when the fort is hosting one of its annual, special events. Two such events are coming up: a World War II Living History Event and Christmas Through the Ages.
